Garlen is a planet famed for its large amount of precursor ruins and artifacts. It's only accessible through a teleporter network, and it corresponds to no known location in Realspace. Its creation has been attributed to the Ancients. There are multiple locales currently accessible to visitors, but the majority of them stay within The Valley, a . The ECF of Ordo used to be around -7‽ and more near where the Heart was formerly located, but the ECF has gradually dropped to -5‽ following the removal of the Heart. Ordo is accessible only via portal; currently two portals are known, one in Garlen's Valley and one in a swamp inside the Haven Federation's Rendera District.
March 3th 3285. The teleporter network was hijacked, and anyone attempting to use it was transported to the world that would come to be known as Garlen. The world immediately began exhibiting anomalous properties, such as the bar seemingly regenerating after being burnt down, and the stars in the sky not matching any known astrography maps. Over time, various groups established their presence on the garden world, discovering much about the Ancients within its ruins.
As a treasure trove of precursor knowledge, Garlen became a hotly-contested location. The world became a battleground at many points. Groups such as the Occassus warred with visitors over artifacts and territories, and Atlas fought against Forlorn Legionnaires trying to establish themselves on its soil. Due to only being accessible through the teleporter, settlements on it were largely limited at first, until the establishment of the Solus mine, which gave factions access to local resources.
One of the most notable things about Garlen is that the majority of metallic and inorganic substances brought there suffer from advanced deterioration. While visitors and bargoers likely won't stay long enough to experience its effects, larger structures constructed by third parties will rust faster and have the bonds in metal break down. Even inorganic, living organisms experience this, so androids and Glitch will require maintenance more often.
Metals mined directly from Garlen are exempt from this effect. The Solus mine extracts and refines ore to create structures that don't decay.
