Xari is an anomalous metamaterial that can fully interact with neutrinos, allowing it to interact with both tangible matter and phase matter equally. Xari can be naturally and artificially made by doping crystalline allotropes of different elements (typically Beryllium) with ordered granules of neutrically phased beta emitters such as Strontium-90 or Carbon-14. Doping crystalline elements with phased beta emitters seems to have an anomalous effect on the weak force that causes interactions with neutrinos.
Xari has many uses, most of them involving interacting with phase matter as if it were real matter, no matter how phased it is. Xari can be used with tools and surgical instruments to do work or surgery on phase matter organisms; barriers made of it cannot be passed by phase matter organisms and do not require large amounts of energy like plasma barriers do. Weapons made of it can damage phase matter beings as if they were real. Xari also has potential valuable uses with technology that uses neutrinos, being capable of easily being used in more efficient neutrino detectors. Of course, it can be used the other way around, as phase matter organisms can also make use of Xari themselves, using it as tools and such to allow them to interact with real matter more easily. Xari is essential for any work requiring the manipulation of phase matter.
Different forms of Xari can be found in varying places where four conditions are satisfied: the presence of elemental crystals, the presence of abundant phase matter organisms, the presence of radioactive elements, and a positive ECF. Locations that Xari can be found in are typically in midnight planets or in various places in hyperspace. Xari can also be artificially created, though the process isn’t commonly known and is fairly difficult to perform.
