A peaceful species consisting of two diversities, the Ehvin, from far away, would look like a normal South American Earth farm animal, but once someone saw them up close, they would immediately notice their plumage, retrice, and arms protruding from their upper torso. The Ehvin's culture is incredibly varied and peaceful, with violent crime being an unfamiliar notion in their homelands. The Ehvin are not easily situated with violence, even though they are stronger than some species. The two diversities of the Ehvin involve the Kraib (Kra-eeb), and the Da'ish (Da-eesh), the Kraib are most similar to the Llamas of Earth, bigger, and slightly stronger than the Da'ish, but they still have plumage and tail feathers, the Da'ish, however, are more similar to the Alpacas of Earth, being shorter and more stout, also having shorter ear spans.
The Ehvin's culture has many variations in it, these variations are from the species that they've met, as the Ehvin are a species which find themselves innately infatuated with anything unfamiliar. For example, if the Ehvin were to be shown the architecture and culture of another species which they have not yet learned of, they would begin to assimilate their styles into their own culture as they learned of the species, a mimicry done in pure fascination and flattery.
The Ehvin biology is interesting, being that they're similar to both birds, and some South American Earth farm animals. The Ehvin are a long-necked, bird-like species, they come in all sizes, colors, and shapes, but they have two split diversities when it comes to that, similar to races in Humans. The Ehvin are differentiated by their two diversities, the Kraib, and the Da'ish, the Kraib are generally bigger and stronger than the Da'ish, usually reaching to maximum sizes of 7'4" in height. The Da'ish however are generally shorter and more stout than the Kraib, reaching to maximum sizes of 6'2", also being slightly weaker, but still stronger than some species. The Kraib and Da'ish have little to no cultural and/or religious differences. The Kraib would be most similar to the Llamas of Earth, while on the other hand, the Da'ish would be more similar to the alpacas of Earth.
The Ehvin at first glance would look like a normal South American farm animal, but on closer inspection, they have bird-like arms with talons, they can speak, they have plumage, and they have tail-feathers. The Ehvin (At least the Kraib) are generally taller than some other races, ranging from maximum heights of 6'2" to 7'4" in height. The Ehvin are incredibly varied in the colors of their plumage, however, it is more common to see and Ehvin with more "natural" colors, the vibrant colors are less common, but the Ehvin don't discriminate. The Ehvin's plumage is mostly aesthetic, only being useful to keep them warm when they're cold. Male Ehvin would have small curled horns, like a ram's, but smaller. An average Ehvin would live at an normal human lifespan. The Ehvin have sharp teeth, it is unknown why they evolved this way, but they've eaten many hard fruits and vegetables in their lifespans. the Ehvin have strong molars, this is due to the fact that most of the fruits and vegetables they have eaten have had strong skin and shells. The Ehvin are an omnivorous Species, however, they prefer to eat fruits and vegetables of any kind as long as they have a strong taste. The Ehvin would only eat meat if it was in a dire situation. The Ehvin developed by eating the white berries found on the main continent of Ewish. The Ehvin can digest meat, but when they eat meat they don't like the iron-y and bloody taste of it. The Ehvin are naturally "allergic" to most nut-like foods as it is a natural reaction from their body to the contents of the nuts.
The culture of the Ehvin most closely resembles that of the Peruvian culture of Earth, but with nuances from other species that have been encountered by these feathered imitators over the years, particularly most colored by whichever species they have most recently encountered. The Ehvin follow a large religion based on the spirits of their dead and three gods. This Religion is called Prodigianism, the Priest(ess)s who follow this religion believe that when an Ehvin dies, their spirit takes their place for them, and they always stay around their family, and bring good luck if they lived a happy life. Prodigianism comes from the word "Prodigy" as the people who worship this religion try their best to be good in many things. The three gods that are tied to this religion are Elraura, a goddess of success, Ovmus, a god of celebrations and cheer, and Jimir, a god of education and knowledge.
The childhood of an Ehvino starts when it is born, the Priest(ess) who attended wraps the child in a blanket passed down through generations with the family name inscribed on it, this blanket kept until the courting of the child, where they keep it as a souvenir until the birth of their child, and they pass it down to them. If the mother passed down the blanket, she uses it to wrap it around her back, carrying the child along with her. Ehvin children have a varied education, they mostly learn about their culture and their honorable dead, they sit in a large circle of children, with the educator in front of them, the educator tells them stories about their honored dead, and how they've changed the present.
The "schools" of the Ehvin are decorated around with dark brown fabrics, these are the color of the god of education, Jimir. Children, after school, were free to go and do fun activities, hobbies, etc. The Ehvin children take part in activities involving something similar to crocheting, where they go on some sort of "field trip" to a Ghappi farm, where the children watch one of the farmers shear a Ghappi, the children then take the wool back home, and have a sort of "school project" where they have to crochet the wool into a piece of fabric. Some children play instruments, an example of an instrument for the Ehvin is the "Quaimnaphone" which is similar to a xylophone from earth, but it's shaped in a triangular way.
"Whilst studying the Ehvin, I have found myself quite enamored by their infatuation with the architecture of my ship, the nuances of my food, and even the stylings of my clothes. In fact, it has made getting a full grasp of their true culture quite difficult, as during my time here, the local Ehvin have started taking up mimicry of my mannerisms and culture, as if some form of odd flattery of my alien ways whilst they try to understand them. Quite the curious species, they've a natural way of meshing themselves with others around them, if not without some hiccups of misunderstanding, said misunderstandings occurring without any implied malice. In all my years, I do not believe I have encountered such a friendly group." -Dr. Hassad's Journals, The Ehvin

One hundred years before the Ehvin's primary contact with the outside world, while most species were making use of FTL technology, colonizing the stars and beginning to find their way in the galaxy, the Ehvin were in what would be comparable to the early 20th century of Earth technology wise. The discovery of electricity and high metallurgy was revolutionizing the way of life for this simple species in the fields of medicine, communication, and travel. While devising their first radios, the species received several odd transmissions which they could not quite fully explain. Shrugging off these happenings as odd quirks of this new technology, the Ehvin continued on with this early technological revolution, their world finally becoming lit up during the night, a sight visible from space at long last.

Two decades prior to the first great galactic war, the Ehvin's first encounter with a species would occur. A poorly fated Hylotl colonist group found themselves head to head with a deadly encounter with space debris, one which they would not survive. Their ships plummeted to the surface of Ewish, the largest continent of the homeworld Khoine. Ehvin from miles around flocked to the great sounds of explosions as the ships plummeted into the mountainsides, leaving great plumes of flame and ash which colored the air. An underdeveloped species, the Ehvin were incapable of providing proper medical attention to these alien visitors, but the government was capable of salvaging technology from their ships. For years they studied this technology, using it to propel them forward eons into a sub-modern species, only a few more breakthroughs short of space travel.

While the ships which catapulted the Ehvin into modernity were useful in many ways, for years they sat silent, their radios without noise as they rusted away in government hangars. This changed, however, on the fateful day that a janitor heard the sound of odd speech coming from the radio. A message had come through all these years later. Although the language barrier between the two species was grand, they were capable of finding a bridge great enough that simple speech could be translated, and thus the Hylotl sent forth a group of ambassadors, who, against the common standards of most species at the time, decided to uplift the species to the point of full modern travel capabilities. Bestowing the knowledge of ship engineering and FTL engines upon the Ehvin, the Hylotl had given them all the spark they needed to fall in with the others upon the galactic stage. The Ehvin brewed upon this technology for many years as they produced ships enough to mount an expedition, and harvested Erchius from nearby moons within their system. Long enough to have missed involvement within the Galactic War for the Fringe, however, this may have been the best for the pacifistic species. Fitted with their fleet, they sent forth their best minds to the Fringe they had heard of over radio transmissions, a journey which would take another 10 years.

In the year 3282, the Ehvin had finally set forth their ambassadors to the Fringe. Following reports of acceptance of their ways among others, they began full fledged efforts to observe the Galaxy's many nuances firsthand. Learning of its odd ways, the Ehvin are still examining the cultures and species of the Galaxy, sending their ever-better ships forth to learn all they can, and to set forth a good word with anybody who will listen. While some Ehvin have found themselves fully enamored enough with their new surroundings that they have decided to set down colonies within the Fringe and some small sectors of CivSpace, most of the species as a whole is simply learning, not yet ready to expand as a true empire. Whenever this will occur, who could say, as it seems the Ehvin are quite content to take a backseat in most galactic matters for the time being, happy observers, always interested to learn the ways of a new group of people.
