The Planet of Florus (Also known by the Synonym FL1-4) has long since been the homeworld and capital planet of the Floran Tribal Confederacy. The entire planet is largely covered in heavily forested tropical rain-forests, which much of the water on the planet coming from swamps and small seas underneath the canopy. The planet itself is dotted in large cities indented into the tree life, separated by tribal borders and is often considered one of the deadliest places in the galaxy due to the pure savagery it exhibits.

The Florus system has a single star, roughly 4.5 solar masses and with a diameter 100x that of the sun, named Florus. It is considered a red giant is nearing the end of it's life-cycle. The low radiation and medium heat caused by this star caused the formerly dead planet of FL1-4 to be pushed into the Goldilocks zone and over many millions of years, created the perfect environment for lush jungles on the planet. There are 5 worlds orbiting Florus, The first being Dolsus, a dead, burning rock formerly covered in life, now scorched barren by the expansion of Florus over 2 billion years ago.
The second planet is FL1-4, a lush jungle planet, covered in plant life, it is almost impossible to see the oceans due to the large amount of foliage growing over it. Two moons orbit the world, both having been terraformed into similar massive rain-forests, populated by predatory species and used as hunting grounds for the bravest of Floran warriors. Although the planet is teeming with plant life, those used to planets in systems like Sol would be quickly confused by the sight of the world below them. Due to the nature of the red giant the world of FL1-4 orbits, the majority of the light it is bathed in each day lies in the infrared spectrum, resulting in life of the world there adapting to such an environment, creating plantlife which barely reflects only a small portion of the visible spectrum, resulting in a world of muddy-red forests, and a nearly black canopy hanging above those on the forest floor.
The final rocky planet in the system is known as Festian, and is far too distant from the sun to ever support life, a frozen, cold rock that's core has long since ceased to heat the planet or drive its geological activities. Beyond these rocky worlds lie two gas giants, Hdsarvi, an ice giant a little more than twice the size of Neptune. It currently poses no major use to the Florans outside of its use as a gravity well for passing asteroids, much of which it has taken on as amorphous moons, lifeless and desolate. However, its few terrestrial moons are useful for mining operations. Between Hdsarvi and the next gas giant, Fhosivid, lies a large asteroid belt.
Fhosivid is a typical Jovian gas giant in its composition, and has a size more than twice that of Jupiter's. It is only slightly more massive than Jupiter, and it has a low density. Astronomers interests have been piqued by the extreme axial tilt of the world, which is sitting at around 85 degrees. Around it are around 94 moons, most of which are simple asteroids taken from the system's outer belt and object cloud. Five of which, however, are terrestrial in aspect. One, Disivvi, is entirely covered in a planet-wide ocean, several kilometers deep. It is currently only partially colonized by the Florans, whom use it as a base of operations for gas mining on the planet Fhosivid. The second moon, Ignirie, is volcanic, a thick atmosphere trapping the gasses released by its fields of active lava floes. It remains uncolonized. The third, Taktal, has a dense atmosphere composed of hydrocarbons. These gasses, as well as the lakes and seas that they form on its surface, are mined as a fuel source. Nesra is a cold, desolate moon in the classification of Midnight objects. Little of it has been mapped or explored, but it is believed to be teeming with Phase Matter organisms. The fifth, Noktuz is a dead, atmosphere-less rock.
(A typical Floran city, partially techno-organic. Many of the cities themselves rest upon the seas of FL1-4 so the Florans have access to the life giving water.)
The planet of Florus (FL1-4) is a super earth, given life millions of years ago after the sun expanded into a Red Giant. It is home to incredibly deadly jungle wildlife, though there are small clearings on the planet home to their own ecosystems. The planet itself has many canyons and crags, where many Florans build their cities, due to the relative ease of access for the nimble Florans. It is believed the Florans themselves are uniquely suited to Florus, as the harsh conditions have molded their bodies into an almost apex predator on their homeworld, where they are the head of the food chain.
The de facto capital of Florus is a city known as Solarus, where it is believed the first Greenfinger, Greenlord of the Florans, rose, and has one of the largest temples devoted to the Floran sun god, vast and extravagant, it has an image of what the Florans believe the sun god to resemble. The city itself has been constructed within the massive Life Tree of Florus, Fdhargiir'sil, its insides having been shaped by the local Greenfingers under the orders of the chieftains and Greenlord himself. Any who walk into the holy halls of Solarus unbaptized by the Florans are sure to end with a bloody death, albeit even if they are they may end with a bloody death. Blood sports are very popular on Florus and gladiator pits meant for all kinds of combat have been created to sate the Floran's vicious blood-lust, as well as to act like some form of religious ceremonies. The conglomeration of Greenfingers is the highest point of Solarus, in the very top of the tree resides some of the oldest and wisest Greenfingers the Floran people have to offer, led in their council by the Greenlord of Florus.
The Floran people of Florus live relatively simple lives, hunting and fishing not dissimilar to primitive human natives or creatures such as the Fenerox, though under wartime conditions they will viciously follow their Greenfingers guidance to the drums of war, defending their world with savage fury, the planet of Florus is virtually impenetrable, if any ground troops were to land on the planet, they would be quickly swarmed by Floran hunters or the local wildlife.
